The Two Horses OF Dschengis-Khan

Synopsis

In search of the origin of the old folk song „The two horses of Dschingis Khan“, internationally acclaimed singer Urna travels to Mongolia. Inspired and guided by the book “The secret history of the Mongols” she follows the old myths of Dschingis Khan, the music of her country and the smaller and bigger secrets of the fascinating mainland of Central Asia.

Her journey leads her to Khentii Aimag (the birth place of Genghis Khan), to the holy mountain Burchan Chaldun and to the old capitol of the Mongolian Empire – Karakorum. She meets people on her way who tell stories of their homeland and about the Khan.

The horse-head violinist maker Khicheengui who builds a traditional violin for URNA sends her on a search for traditonal tunes. The shaman at the holy mountain Burchan Chaldun inspires her for new lyrics.
